Hi all!
I found my faith in god through a friend and a rather strange situation yesterday. I never thought I would.

I agree people with problems who cling to religion are running away and using it as a crutch, if it wasn't religion, it would be alcohol food or drugs...

Post 7 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Wednesday, 11-May-2005 11:23:52

But at least religion can be positive, unlike running to alcohol, food, or drugs. *smiles* Good for you, Inesole, that you were able to find help for your problems.

as long as your happy thats all that matters, but whatever you do, dont let your religious beliefs become such a part of your life that you cant respect anyone elses beliefs. im just trying to give you a bit of helpful advice, so i hope it helps.

Post 9 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 11-May-2005 16:43:47

Oh, okay, shall I feel sorry for it now?

Post 10 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Wednesday, 11-May-2005 18:16:31

no ines not at all. Just because you have now found something that you believe in, doesn't mean you're about to turn into a fundamentalist christian nutcase. There will always be people who do not agree with their religion and that is entirely their perogative, doesn't make your own beliefs any less worthwhile though, so hold on to that, smiles.

Post 11 by asdfghjkl (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 11-May-2005 22:18:44

Ines, that is totally awesome! How did it come about, if you don't mind me asking? And Goblin, I don't see any reason for you to batter her when this is just her, and she has the right to be happy without you stomping all over her... if the topic says something about faith in God, and you don't like stuff like that, then, for goodness sake, don't post in it if you've nothing nice to say!

Post 12 by Happy Little Faith (One day closer to eternity! Wahoooooooo!) on Wednesday, 11-May-2005 22:51:34

Ines, I would love to hear your story! What is it? If you don't mind sharing, I would love to hear. Don't mind harsh conments. Good for you for being so brave to share of your experence!

God bless you
Lordlover

Post 13 by rdfreak (THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE-BLUE KANGA-KICKIN AUSIE) on Thursday, 12-May-2005 2:12:31

that wasn't nice to critisize her own topic Goblin, really?!

Post 14 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Thursday, 12-May-2005 2:59:52

Well I'm used to Goblin "criticizing" people so I just ignore it. Some people just made me feel like I have to appologize for it. To those who asked me about my story: I'll PM you all.

Post 15 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Thursday, 12-May-2005 11:50:02

I didn't stomp over anyone I merely voiced my opinion as is my right

Post 16 by asdfghjkl (Account disabled) on Thursday, 12-May-2005 17:28:21

Yeah, but you've stated it so many times I think everyone gets it already. So don't ruin her moment. Ah but if she doesn't care I won't bother arguing with you.

Post 17 by Flidais (WISEST IS SHE WHO KNOWS THAT SHE DOES NOT KNOW) on Thursday, 12-May-2005 18:44:48

<hugs> I know we already talked about this in QN, but I'm sooo happy for you and <huggles> I wish you the best.

Post 18 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Friday, 13-May-2005 2:15:49

Thanks. NO, I really don'T care about Goblin's posts anymore. And, I was in church with my friends yesterday, they didn'T play songs with an organ, but with a band. Wonderful, it was awesome.

Post 19 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Friday, 13-May-2005 5:25:21

much better with a band, all that organ music can be a bit too depressing. well in my view anyway, smiles

Post 20 by wildebrew (We promised the world we'd tame it, what were we hoping for?) on Friday, 13-May-2005 9:18:31

It appears the goblin prefers making up user accounts with bad names to religion, or rely on medication of course. Here's hoping that he, one day, will discover religion too. *smiles*
Good luck to all of ya. :)
Cheers

Hmm, actually on second thought, I really have no proof beyond one person's post that goblin has anything to do with it so for now I think that was not a fair nor nice post to him so my appologies to the goblin for that. Innocent until proven guilty. Nevertheless, a little religion can often help out in times of crisis and finding your faith and turning into a fundamentalist are completely different things, it's like liking beer vs being a raging alcoholic in a sense. Not everyone who tastes beer will end up in 50 rehabs and then die of a damaged liver. Beer, wine etc can be enjoyed on many occasions and in moderation can even be good for you. Not to equate religion and alcohol at all but I'm just taking that as an example.
Cheers

My religion comes in the shape of a gorgeous red car
di Italia! And no one can argue about the validity of their existence, there is however, no proof of the existence of any "god"

Post 23 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Friday, 13-May-2005 10:05:12

well, there is no proof of the existance of a lot of things, doesn't mean people can't believe in them though, go for it ines, if your faith makes you happy, don't let anyone put you down, smiles

Post 24 by therage1983 (Account disabled) on Saturday, 14-May-2005 1:14:31

Here's a food for thought. Why are so many blind people anti God. "There is no proof." Why should he need to show us physical proof? Obviously you try to quell the belief in God because you are bitter about your handicap. How sad.

Post 25 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Saturday, 14-May-2005 5:54:38

I don't think it's just that there are lots of blind people who don't believe in god, I think it's that there are lots of people in general who don't believe in god, to say that someone does not believe purely because they are bitter about their disability is perhaps a little harsh. Some people just do not believe in the existance of a higher being than themselves, and that's perfectly ok, as long as those people accept that some others do believe that there is a higher being, and, that as long as those people do not force their beliefs on to the non believers, that is perfectly ok as well, just because one does, or does not believe, does not make you worse, or better than anyone else.

Post 26 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Saturday, 14-May-2005 10:49:21

that is not how I see my condition .There is nothing better than holding my 10month old son, and feeling his heart beat I wouldn't swap that sensation for the chance to see his heart beating for a million quid..I'm the least bitter person you could hope to meet ...

Post 27 by alison (my ISP would be out of business if it wasn't for this haven I live at) on Saturday, 14-May-2005 16:52:54

yeah there's no _physical proof but physical proof isn't always needed...at least in my opinion.

1. I agree that organ music is awful.
2. I don#t think so many blind people are anti god. I know very many blind people who are not, and many sighted persons who are ant-god.
3. Even though I agree with what is said about Goblin, I have the impression at the moment, that every post, no matter what it should be about, is used against him at some point. This is not because I want to help him, but I think the real topic is just forgotten then.
Ines.

Sorry, three times the same post. That's the computer's fault.

Post 32 by asdfghjkl (Account disabled) on Monday, 16-May-2005 18:23:10

Hahaha Ines. Yes, organ msic isn't exactly my idea of music. However any praise to God is music to His ears, even if someone sings badly! Hahahaha! I learned that not too long ago...

Post 33 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 2:50:44

Yeah, probaboy, but still, christian music can strengthen your faith.

Post 34 by bermuda-triangulese (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 3:59:35

Your not gunna lose your interest in real music, are ya? It'd suck if ya left hiphop and reggae and stuff behind.

Post 35 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 6:08:41

Post 36 by bermuda-triangulese (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 7:03:54

lol sod that! THere's enough of that and it sucks

Post 37 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 7:47:17

Why should I lose my interest in "real" music? I can hear both.

Post 38 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 7:48:56

I will never lose interest in real good HIpHop, no worries. Never ever. I've been listening to crap music long enough, hahahaha *that includes classical and German folk music*.

Post 39 by asdfghjkl (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 17-May-2005 17:52:34

Ines, there's also Christian rap, groups like KJ-52, the Cross Movement, Grits... if you're interested go to tvulive.com and click on features then click on band lists and search for them. their sites might not be accessible though.

Post 40 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 18-May-2005 2:58:08

Wow thanks. But I should not only listen to christian music. I still like other music as well, should not forget about it.

Post 41 by bermuda-triangulese (Help me, I'm stuck to my chair!) on Wednesday, 18-May-2005 9:13:08

cristchen rap? lmao. I'm not even gunna say any more about that. THe thought makes me laugh.

Post 42 by Inesle1987 (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 18-May-2005 11:40:24

No don't. No, rap should not be christian, I think it just doesn't work. Sorry.
